Education and Research Center of Animal Models for Human Diseases (CAMHD)
Supporting research activities that contribute to future medical progress
The Education and Research Center of Animal Models for Human Diseases (abbreviated as Center) was established to support medical education and research activities. Animal models that are indispensable for understanding human disease mechanisms or development of treatment methods are kept in the Center. The Center is equipped with high-spec fundamental research rooms including an animal breeding room with a controlled environment and an embryo manipulation room, and also is installed with a full lineup of the latest experimental devices that can be used in clinical settings such as animal 3D-CT scanners, sphygmomanometers, and anesthesia machines. A significant number of international research activities are carried out at the Center. Also, lectures (knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and also of animal science) and practice programs (appropriate handling of animal models) are given by the Center faculties and instructors to the students who wish to contribute to medical care.
