Fujita Memorial Nanakuri Institute
Tradition and Innovation
The Institute of Pharmacognosy which opened in 1973 underwent repeated reorganization and development and, in 2004, it finally achieved its current state. The institute was then relocated in April, 2014. The institute has two divisions: the Division of Biochemistry and the Division of Rehabilitation. The former engages in research on the animal model of diseases such as stroke in addition to research into aloe, garlic, functional foods, and nutrition that has continued from the opening of the institution. The latter uses engineering and kinesiology knowledge and skills to evaluate physical impairment and use robots. These two divisions work together and cooperate with the hospital to develop the Nanakuri campus.
