The history of Banbuntane Hotokukai Hospital extends back to 1930, when it was founded as a charitable institution for the care of the poor. In 1971 the hospital was affiliated with the School of Medicine of Fujita Health University, which had been founded in 1964. The facility is located in a densely populated downtown area, and provides students the opportunities for learning primary medical care for patients with a wide variety of diseases.
The hospital has 499 beds for admission and takes care of 800〜900 outpatients daily.
You cannot practice medical care with only the knowledge from a textbook. This is a main reason why you should have a term for learning hands-on clinical training as a trainee. Experiences in the hospital will instruct you in how to treat and care for patients. To accomplish this purpose, in this hospital clinical training is designed to enable you to understand the entire process, from initial interview, physical examination, choosing kinds of examination, differential diagnosis, treatment method and evaluation of treatment efficacy. Training programs for co-medical department students are also provided in the same way.
