School of Medicine

A comprehensive curriculum based on practical training, extending from early clinical learning the work experience for first-year students to practical training in advanced, cutting-edge treatment in the graduate school

Good friends and rewarding days in an ideal environment

Photo The School of Medicine at Fujita Health University, a comprehensive medical school nestled amid lushly green surroundings, is ushering in a year of effort aimed at fulfilling its mission of training excellent physicians through dialog and concerted action.
Offering a new curriculum aimed at training physicians for a new era, the school begins with general education and inculcation of basic medical knowledge. Students then also learn about new scientific data on the human organism, which is followed by classroom learning on the clinical systems for identifying diseases, then advance to clinical training in which they learn through direct contact with patients. This practical training is conducted at Fujita Health University Hospital, an advanced-treatment hospital that contains over 1,500 patient beds and provides medical care that has earned the trust of its patients, as well as at Banbuntane Hotokukai Hospital and Nanakuri Sanatorium, which each offer their own distinctive characteristics. Here, under the guidance of the young doctors who are their seniors, students discover problems and formulate solutions themselves.
For students in their final year before graduating, training in local or overseas hospitals is also available, as are a full array of programs for passing national certification examinations. We also work to provide a full complement of clinical residency programs for after graduation, and the skills of doctors that have graduated from the university have won high acclaim.
What is more, lectures on the latest medical advances and approaches to basic medicine are also supported and held by the graduate school, the globally acclaimed General Medical Research Center, and the Fujita Memorial Institute of Pharmacognosy.
Club and intramural activities also provide venues for interaction for students in a wide range of medical fields, for an early understanding of the mutual roles in medicine is vital to today's team medical care. In this way, the School of Medicine finds itself in a university graced with a superb learning environment as well as predecessors and educators who work to foster a sense of belonging.
If you are eager to learn about medicine and become an outstanding physician, then the School of Medicine is where you should be. Here, it's all up to you.
