The Faculty of Medical Management & Information Science was established in 2008 with the aim of training professionals in the field of hospital and medical management. Harsh circumstances in the medical field today make it difficult for hospitals to survive financially and ensure a good healthcare delivery system. Hospitals and other medical institutions therefore need to be run by professionals who have acquired the special knowledge and management skills that will enable the hospital to provide high-quality medical care efficiently, reliably, and safely. The Faculty of Medical Information & Management Science trains students to become professionals possessing these skills.

Effective medical and hospital management requires 1) basic knowledge in medicine and medical care, 2) knowledge and skills in medical information systems and processing, and 3) knowledge of hospital management methods.
In our Faculty, students acquire this knowledge and these skills over four years. In the first year students learn scientific thought and basic concepts and techniques including human, living, and communication skills.
In the second year they study information systems and medical record management. In the third year they study medical administration and medical care, and in the fourth year they receive practical training in the university hospital and conduct graduation research on a special topic in an academic environment. This course work and practical training qualifies students to take the certification examinations to become health information managers, health information technologists, and other positions.

Effective medical management requires that managers learn not only the special knowledge and skills of the field, but also that they acquire practical ability in teamwork and coordination based on collaboration with people in various occupations. Over the four years that students are in this Faculty, we strive to instill in them qualities related to communication, collaboration, and cooperation that will enable them to exhibit their abilities to the fullest extent.
After graduating from the Faculty, students will be prepared to make real contributions to the management of hospitals and medical institutions that provide high-quality, compassionate medical care based on stable operation.
