The School of Health Sciences comprises six areas: the Faculties of Medical Technology, Nursing, Radiological Technology, Rehabilitation, Clinical Engineering, and Medical Management and Information Science. The last two faculties have been newly established in 2008.
Upon graduation, the students from these areas respectively take the national certification examinations for medical technologists, nurses, public health nurses, radiological technologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical engineers, and health information managers. The central concept unifying those six faculties is to aim at Evidence-Based Medicine and to teach health sciences systematically as practical science. Our graduates have traditionally enjoyed a high rate of passing the national certification examinations, far surpassing the national average. Our graduates now number more than 7,000, and are active throughout Japan and even overseas in a wide range of fields, with medicine, health and welfare at the core. They are employed not just at medical facilities, but have also entered commercial firms involved in medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, the environment, and biotechnology.
Health sciences are a highly respected area of occupation and at the same time undergo continuously rapid progress. Our School of Health Sciences thus seeks those individuals who wish to learn about health sciences so that they are able to pursue lasting continuing studies of their choice. Since the arrival of twenty-first century, health sciences have become more advanced and specialized, which requires students to possess a research-oriented mind seeking problems and their solutions. These days medicine is oriented towards gteam medicineh in which doctors, nurses, medical technologists, radiological technologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical engineers, health information managers, and other medical professionals work together to help patients. We take a full advantage of having three affiliated hospitals to help students learn the values of cooperation, sensitivity, and communication skills.
We all stand ready to throw our full support behind you to help you reach your own personal goals. Where there is a will there is a way!
