Medical treatment is performed through a cooperation of medical staff, including physicians, nurses, medical technologists, radiological technologists and rehabilitation specialists, as well as patients and their families. In this process, it is the role of medical technologists to help physicians for accurate diagnoses and treatments with rapid and accurate examination data. At Fujita Health University, students study hard to gain sophisticated knowledge as a specialist and practice to acquire reliable skills by using the latest medical devices.

An increase seen among middle-aged patients suffering from metabolic syndrome and hepatitis C has became an important problem facing Japan in recent years.
Medical technologists who have reliable skills and a sense of ethics play more important roles than ever in reducing the number of such patients. In the Faculty of Medical Technology, students take a wide range of specialized courses that cover the subjects of various testing for diagnosis, prevention of disease and public health. They need not only to master skills for testing but also to acquire an attitude necessary for medical technologists to participate in team-based medicine.

Students take an intensive technical training in a hospital to learn the significance of clinical testing because it plays a pivotal role in elucidating the pathological causes of diseases.
They also learn methods of testing to accomplish their tasks confidently. Each student writes a graduation thesis with an academic standard and originality that would be acceptable for publication in a life science journal.
Through this experience, students learn the method of research and become aware of the great field of clinical science where so many problems remain to be solved.
