Seminar "Medical Support for Foreigners in Japanese."

On the 21st of January, FHU and Toyoake International Exchange Association held a seminar, “We can do it even in Japanese! Medical Support for Foreigners” so local foreigners can use hospitals and medical interpreters more often. In the lecture, our three graduate students from the Medical Interpreting Course and Associate Professor Shinobu Hattori explained the support system for foreign patients at FHU hospital and the differences in medical culture between foreigners and Japanese. Also, they introduced how to respond when foreigners ask you for advice about the hospital. A listener commented, "I would like to find the way I can help them, for example, taking them to the consultation desk when a foreigner needs assistance." This has broadened the scope of foreign support in the future. "
