MOU with Thomas Jefferson University


On March 4, 2021, the MOU ceremony between Fujita Health University and Thomas Jefferson University was held online. Thomas Jefferson University is one of the top private universities in the United States, with multiple related hospitals and medical centers.
From Fujita side, President Saitoh, Professor Yoshikawa of the School of Medicine, Professor Nagasaki, Director Takahashi of the Center for International Relations, and Professor Matsuoka, a visiting professor of the Noguchi International Medical Endowment Course (established in August 2020) attended. From Thomas Jefferson University, Vice President Mark L. Tykocinski, Professor Joseph S. Gonnella, and representing the Japan Center for TJU, Vice President Charles A. Pohl, Professor Sato, and Professor Wayne Bond Lau joined the event.
At the signing ceremony, Vice President Charles A. Pohl and Director Takahashi introduced each university, and then President Saito and Vice President Tykocinski signed the agreement. At the time of signing, Vice President Tykocinski said, "For Thomas Jefferson University, Fujita Health University is an important partner in the university's future development," and President Saito said, "I am looking forward to various activities such as the medical student training program."
In the future, we will plan various activities such as sending our medical school students as a part of clinical training and short-term training programs. It is expected that this agreement will lead to the further development of the internationalization of our university.
