研究テーマ

（１）抗菌薬の薬剤耐性に関わる酵素の構造生物学的研究

　基質特異性拡張型クラスC βラクタマーゼを中心に、抗菌薬の耐性に関わる酵素の基質特異性や触媒効率に関する分子メカニズムを解明する研究を行っています。

（２）創薬を志向したタンパク質-低分子化合物の複合体立体構造に関する研究

　ヒト血清アルブミンとそれに結合する薬物を中心に、がん細胞での免疫寛容システムの阻害物質探索や血液製剤の安定化などに関して共同研究を行っています。

（３）好熱性古細菌Sulfolobus tokodaiiをモデル生物としたゲノム安定性に関わるタンパク質の構造生物学的研究

　DNAクランプとそれに相互作用する酵素との複合体構造決定を中心に研究を進めています。
DNAクランプは、DNA複製や修復・組換え、転写に関わる多くの酵素と相互作用し、その働きを調節しています。多くの生物種にコードされているDNAクランプは、ホモ二量体やホモ三量体を構成することで機能性複合体を形成していますが、好熱性古細菌Sulfolobus tokodaiiがコードするDNAクランプはヘテロ三量体で構成されています。このヘテロ三量体を形成する特徴に注目して、DNAクランプが酵素の働きを調節する仕組みを、立体構造に基づき解明する研究を進めています。
