The Oncology Innovation Center (ONIC), Fujita Health University, serves as a hub connecting basic cancer research and clinical practice. By integrating analyses of patient-derived specimens, such as tumor tissues and blood samples, with clinical data, the Center aims to advance cancer risk assessment, early diagnosis, detection of recurrence, selection of appropriate therapies, and the development of new treatments. To achieve these goals, we promote the dissemination of accurate and up-to-date information on cancer, the use of analytical approaches including informatics and machine learning, and the training of professionals who can work across research, clinical practice, and data science. Through these efforts, the Center seeks to enhance the quality of both research and clinical care, while contributing to the advancement of cancer research and oncology both within and beyond the university.
