Projects
Neuropsychiatric disorders like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression require large data analysis, especially of genetic and clinical information. We analyze multi-dimensional data from patients with neuropsychiatric disorders using statistical methods to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology of these disorders. Based on the identified mechanisms, we aim to develop new treatment strategies and disease management approaches with scientists, clinicians, and caregivers.

Chikashi Terao Professor
My research focuses on the genetic analysis of neuropsychiatric disorders and related clinical applications, aiming to elucidate the pathophysiological mechanisms of human diseases. Considering the vast amounts of human data now available, data analysis techniques and data generation technologies have become essential. As a member of the International Center for Brain Science, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding of brain disorders, which involve numerous genes and a wide variety of cell types.
